Boxford Publishes Sample Ballots Ahead of Sept. 1 State Primary

BOXFORD — The town posted details and sample ballots this week for the Massachusetts state primary election set for Tuesday, Sept. 1, as residents were also given a first look at the town's proposed fiscal 2027 budget and capital plan.

The Town Clerk's office published sample ballots and other details for the Sept. 1 state primary, giving residents an early look ahead of the fall election cycle. The office is also recruiting poll workers for the election; residents interested in serving can reach out through the town's election contact listed on the town website.

The town's FY27 Proposed Budget and Capital Plan is now available for public review on the town website, giving residents a chance to look over spending and capital priorities before the fiscal year is finalized.

Boxford continues to work through the transition to North Shore Regional 911, a regional dispatch consolidation the town has flagged for residents to follow on the town website. Real estate tax bills are also due, according to a notice posted on the town's homepage.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Boxford Town Library kicked off its summer reading program, open this year to adult patrons as well as children. The library also highlighted two newly available digital services for cardholders: the Kanopy streaming service and Hoopla Digital, both now accessible free with a Boxford library card, joining the existing Libby e-book and audiobook app.

The town has a free outdoor concert on the calendar for later this month: Concert on the Lawn at the Holyoke-French House, set for Saturday, July 25, at 3:30 p.m.

COMING UP

The Recreation Committee meets Tuesday, July 21, and the Zoning Board of Appeals meets Thursday, July 23, according to the town's public meetings calendar. On Saturday, July 25, the town's Touch a Truck community event and the Concert on the Lawn at the Holyoke-French House are both on the schedule.
