Boxford Opens Early Voting Ahead of September Primary

Boxford residents have a full slate of civic dates ahead this week, headlined by the opening of in-person early voting Saturday for the September 1 state primary and the release of the town's proposed fiscal 2027 budget and capital plan for public review.

The town has posted its proposed fiscal 2027 budget and capital plan for residents to review ahead of upcoming budget deliberations, according to the town website. No hearing date was listed with the posting.

Election preparations are also underway. Sample ballots for the September 1 state primary are available on the town website, and in-person early voting begins Saturday, August 22, and continues on several dates through August 27, with advance removal and deposit of ballots set for August 29. The town is also looking for residents interested in serving as election workers; those interested can email Town Clerk R. Phelan at RPhelan@BoxfordMA.gov.

Separately, the town continues to inform residents about its transition to the North Shore Regional 911 dispatch service, and a reminder notice on the town website flags that real estate tax bills are due.

Several town boards meet in the next week: the Recycling Committee on Monday, August 24; the Merrimack Valley Workforce Board MassHire and a joint session of the Historic Districts Commission and Historical Commission on Wednesday, August 26; the Zoning Board of Appeals on Thursday, August 27; and the Select Board on Monday, August 31.

On the election calendar, in-person early voting for the September 1 state primary runs August 22 through August 27, with advance ballot removal and deposit on August 29 ahead of primary day itself.
